I had the pleasure of working with Casey in a production of Monteverdi’s opera, L’incoronazione di Poppea. He was an incredibly sensitive musician and supported my dramatic impulses with professional skill and intuition of the highest calibre. His vast knowledge of historical stylistic practises kept my trills and ornaments in check. Casey was able to accomodate extra rehearsals and was extremely patient with cast members who were still learning their roles. It was such an enjoyable experience and I look forward to working with him again in the future.
I've been singing with Casey Fitzpatrick for the better part of a decade and I couldn't recommend him any higher. Casey is a real professional; he is always prepared, punctual and splendidly dependable. He knows the repertoire and its stylistic nuances inside-out; time and time again he has offered me expert coaching, and provided me with fantastic sources to continue my understanding and command of the repertoire. The best accompanists are singers themselves, and Casey is no exception. He understands the capabilities, strengths and limitations of the singing voice, and skillfully accommodates singers of all abilities. Casey is open and approachable, he's without a doubt my go-to early music accompanist.

“Working with Casey was a delight, we were able to maintain an open conversation about our performance preferences as well as readily discussing other musical possibilities. Casey was incredibly organised and detailed in our rehearsals and his in depth knowledge of early vocal repertory meant he was also able to suggest several historical performance practice ideas which allowed me to extend my vocal technique and consequent performance. I couldn’t recommend Casey more highly and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to perform with him in the future.”

“I've been studying Renaissance lute and theorbo with Casey, he's got an incredible knowledge of the instruments and historical performance practises. Casey tailors his lesson to my goals, he covers everything from technique and theory, to instrument maintenance, finding the right instrument and performance readiness. Casey has been great with diagnosing issues with my technique and helping me overcome them with a positive and encouraging attitude. I feel privileged to take lessons from an early music expert right here in Melbourne.”
